I have found that repulsion is something that makes people uncomfortable or uneasy. repulsion often comes from misunderstanding the things people find repulsive. Repulsion also comes from things that get in peoples way, and is a nuisance. Bugs may be repulsive because they get in our way. Vomit is repulsive because we can relate to the experience of vomiting. It is a nuisance.
